Holly Hill Chamber Committees
Holly Hill Chamber of Commerce Committees are a unique way to increase your participation within the Chamber by assisting with the development and execution of ideas in given areas. Participation on a committee is a volunteer opportunity that allows you and your business to have increased visibility to membership and to the community at large. There is an area for everyone, and participation puts you in a leadership role within a non-profit organization. Meetings for these committees vary - some may meet monthly, some may meet quarterly. That will be the decision of the Chair.
This committee oversees the financial condition of the Holly Hill Chamber and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors as to the feasibility of major expenditures anticipated and monitors employees of the Chamber. This committee recommends salaries, establishes job descriptions, and other considerations of employment for all employees of the Chamber. The Treasurer of the Board of Directors serves on this committee and as the Chair Person. These committee members assist with determining the budget and goals for the following year.
This committee reviews the status of the Chamber of Commerce By-Laws and, from time to time, recommends addendums or changes to the By-Laws for approval of the Board of Directors. The committee shall review the entire By-Laws each year and make any necessary recommendations, if applicable. This committee assists in ensuring that the By-Laws are being followed by the Chamber of Commerce.
This committee is the principal welcoming group for the Chamber. Ambassadors meet and contact all new members to the Chamber and provide information as to the activities of the Chamber. This committee works the check-in tables at certain events and greets new and current members. Ambassadors are the faces of our organization. Due to their involvement at events, our Ambassadors receive personalized name badges and website recognition.
This committee coordinates, plan and executes new member solicitation for the Chamber. This committee also plays a vital role in assisting with existing member retention. The Membership Committee members can expect to help contact current members about their renewals, inform them of upcoming events and see if there is anything the Chamber can assist them with. This group will help design the yearly swag that our renewing members get, and decide the process for recruiting new businesses.
This committee focuses on official Chamber events for membership and the community. This committee will organize and staff various fundraising events through the year, including the Golf Tournament, the Touch-A-Truck event, the Santa Shuffle: Sip and Shop event, and more. Members will develop an event budget and event outline to the Board of Directors for approval, as well as take charge in the soliciting of donors, sponsors and participants for the events.
This committee will meet to nominate and select the slate of the Board of Directors nominees for the year ahead. The selection of the slate will be made prior to the November meeting for the Board of Directors. The slate will be presented to the Board by the Chair for this committee in September. This committee is for those who enjoy interviewing and fielding applicants and nominees for a potential leadership role within the organization. Members will also be responsible for ensuring our quota of minimum Board members is met - and assist in filling open positions throughout the year, if necessary.
